Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Incident Update: Saif Ali Khan, on January 16, was attacked by an intruder at his home and suffered multiple stabbing wounds. The accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad, has reportedly filed bail application in the Mumbai Sessions Court and claimed that the case against him is false. The plea was submitted by his lawyer, Ajay Gawlai.
According to India Today, the plea states, “The FIR is patently false and a false case has been registered against him.” The plea also asserted that Islam has fully cooperated with the investigation.
Meanwhile, his lawyer reportedly claimed that all key evidence, including CCTV footage and call records, has already been collected by the prosecution and there is no risk of him tampering with evidence or influencing witnesses.
The plea further states, “The applicant has co-operated with the investigation. Therefore, no useful purpose will be served by detaining him further in custody, save and except pre-trial punishment.” The court has not heard Islam’s bail plea yet and the Bandra police are yet to file chargesheet in this case.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for five days.
While speaking with NDTV, Saif’s daughter Sara Ali Khan spoke for the first time about the stabbing incident. She shared, “It makes you realise what truly matters. The entire family only felt gratitude because it could have gone so wrong. I am so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder almost of the life we have. We all talk about practising mental health. Being grateful for your life is so important. And moments like that make you realise it.”
“It is not about being closer. He is my father, we are as close as we can be. It did not make me realise that he is my father, it made me realise that life can change overnight. So every day deserves mindful celebration. It made me realise just being grateful,” she added.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan will next star in the Netflix film ‘Jewel Thief’ with Jaideep Ahlawat. The movie will release on April 25.
