Blade Portion Recovered, Actor’s Condition Stable
Mumbai Police have also seized a portion of the knife that was extracted from Saif’s spine during surgery. Efforts to recover the remaining part of the blade are still underway. According to the latest update from Lilavati Hospital, Saif’s family and medical team will decide on moving him from the ICU to a regular ward later today. While the actor is recovering and out of danger, doctors continue to monitor his condition closely.

Attack Details: Robbery Attempt Turns Violent
The attack occurred early on January 16 when an intruder allegedly confronted Saif Ali Khan’s maid at his 11th-floor Bandra apartment. The altercation escalated when Saif attempted to intervene, leading to him being stabbed multiple times. The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where a surgery was performed to remove a 2.5-inch knife lodged in his spine, which had caused significant injury to his thoracic spinal cord and a leaking spinal fluid.
The police have registered an FIR and recorded the statement of the house help. In her complaint, the maid detailed that the intruder had demanded one crore rupees from the family and attacked her with a hexa blade. She described the scene where the attacker, holding a wooden object and a blade, made his threats before assaulting Saif.

According to DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam, the attacker gained access to Saif’s apartment through a fire escape staircase. The police suspect the attack was part of a robbery attempt. “10 detection teams are working on the case, and an offence has been registered at the Bandra Police Station,” said Gedam. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities committed to apprehending the suspect as soon as possible.
