New Delhi: Good news for SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR fans! The latest report from a popular publication predicts that the movie will likely earn an Oscar nomination in the Visual Effects category. SS Rajamouli, who has given some of the bests to Indian cinema like the Baahubali franchise, has earned a handsome business with his film RRR.
RRR to earn Oscar nominations in the Visual Effects category
According to Variety, Srinivas Mohan would likely be one to get nominated for his work in RRR among five others. The other nominations for the category are Top Gun 2, Avatar 2, Black Panther 2, and The Batman. Although there is no official announcement from the makers yet.
Earlier, the makers said that this magnum opus is in the race for Oscars 2023. For the unversed, the film is not an official entry to the Academy of Oscars. The team had filed nominations for 14 categories under the ‘For your consideration’ (FYC) campaign.
Further, the makers in October stated that they had filed the nominations under the general category.
“We applied to The Academy of Oscars consideration in the general category. We wish our RRR family the best and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible. Here is to continue to win hearts and entertain audiences worldwide,” tweeted the RRR’s official Twitter handle in October.
Earlier, the film has been included in two of the categories on Variety’s list of probable Oscar candidates.
According to the magazine, RRR can be nominated for Best Original Song for its song “Dosti.”
The movie stars Junior NTR, Ram Charan in the lead roles. RRR also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles.
