New Delhi: Before the release of much-awaited Dharma film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,’ the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the filmmakers to remove a few words and dialogs that can potentially cause controversies.
Among several suggestions, one was regarding the reference of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Lok Sabha. The CBFC recommended removal of both the elements to secure the approval for film release. Following which, the entire scene was cut.
Along with that, the CBFC asked the makers of the film to chop off a scene from lingerie shop and suggested to replace the word “bra” with “item.”
Other alterations that were made in the romantic-comdey film, a cuss word was changed to “Behen di.” Including that, there was a mention of liquour brnad ‘Old Monk’ that was changed to ‘Bold Monk.’
With all these censors’ cut, the film was given a nod to go ahead for the release on July 19. The movie got the certification and now it is all set to launch on July 28. The movie is 168 minutes, which is equivalent to 2 hours and 48 minutes.
As per the officials, the decision was taken to keep the movie within the bounderies of CBFC’s bounderies.

The film stars Ranveer Singh as Rocky coming from a Punjabi family, while Alia Bhatt or Rani in the film belongs to a typical Bengali family. The trailer showed the characters falling in love but finding it hard to convice their families. So the couple switch household to impress each other’s family.
