After the outstanding success of Kantara, its prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, has been eagerly awaited by the audience. The film, which has redefined the standards of Indian cinema, is set to bring yet another riveting story to viewers. As excitement for the film’s release rises, we hear that lead actor and director Rishab Shetty has resumed a 60-day marathon shooting schedule.
As per sources close to the production, Kantara: Chapter 1 is sure to be bigger and better. Currently in production and about halfway through, the film is said to have entered its third shooting schedule, which will be a busy 60-day continuous shoot.
Meanwhile, Rishab has undergone extensive training in horse riding and Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art. He has been honing his skills for a year, mastering Kalaripayattu as part of his character preparation. This training will be crucial, as major action sequences in the film will incorporate the ancient martial art, while the schedule will also include shooting songs and scenes with a unique style.

Kantara was a big hit and received National Award 2024 in the Best Actor Category. Producer Vijay Kiragandur expressed immense pride following the victory at the National Film Awards, where his film KGF Chapter 2 also won several accolades. “These awards represent the hard work and dedication of our team. It’s not just about the commercial success; Kantara resonated deeply with audiences because of its depiction of human and nature conflicts intertwined with divine elements,” he had said.
