While speaking to Pinkvilla, Rishab Shetty praised director Prashanth Varma and revealed why he said yes to ‘Jai Hanuman’. He said, “Prashant Verma has done a fabulous job on the script. “When Prashant Verma came and told me the story, I couldn’t refuse. Immediately, I told him, ‘yes, let’s do this.’ After that, we did a photoshoot, and its work is also going on. After the release of Kantara, we’ll fix a date and start,” he added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rishab Shetty is all set for the release of his film ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, a prequel to his hit 2022 film ‘Kantara’. The film’s visual is backed by the powerful cinematic vision of Arvind S. Kashyap as cinematographer and the evocative music of B. Ajaneesh Loknath, whose compositions in the first film left audiences spellbound. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.

‘Kantara Chapter 1’ will release in theatres on October 2, 2025. The movie stars Rishab Shetty as Berme, Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara.

Talking about the 2022 film ‘Kantara’, Rishab also directed the film. It also starred Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar in the lead roles. The movie focused on a Kambala champion who clashes with an upright forest officer, leading to a larger conflict involving sacred land, ancestral legacy, and the balance between nature and man-made law. The movie became the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time when it was released. Rishab also won the National Film Award in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category.
