Dhanashree Verma became emotional while discussing her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal on the reality show Rise and Fall. She opened up about the reasons behind their separation and shared personal insights about her relationship. Dhanashree said, “It started as an arranged one. He wanted to get married without dating. I had no plans for marriage.”
During a conversation with Arjun Bijlani, Dhanashree said that she noticed subtle changes in Yuzvendra’s behavior soon after their engagement. “We had our engagement in August, and we got married in December. I travelled with him during that time. We lived together. During this time, I was noticing slight changes”, she said.
When asked about the divorce, she clarified that it was her decision, made after careful consideration, and she does not regret it. He then asked Dhanashree if someone else tried to interfere in their relationship. To this, Dhanashree replied, “We will talk about this later.”
The conversation turned emotional, with Dhanashree shedding tears. Arjun comforted her, telling her, “A few tears in an Indian beauty’s eyes look good.”
Since appearing on the show, Dhanashree has faced online trolling, with many accusing her of seeking sympathy by repeatedly mentioning Chahal. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal has stayed silent, choosing not to respond to her revelations.
Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal got married in December 2020 but shortly after there were issues about her relationship that started surfacing. The cracks were evidently visible and in 2025 the couple got divorced after living apart for 18 months.
