New Delhi: Famous Punjabi actress Daljeet Kaur passed away at the age of 69. It is being said that she was ill for a long time and today she breathed her last in Ludhiana. Daljeet Kaur used to be in limelight for her acting as well as her beauty.

According to her cousin Harinder Singh Khangura, Daljeet was suffering from brain tumour for the past three years. She was also in a deep coma for the last one year. Meanwhile, her final rites have been performed.

Popular singer Mika Singh took to his Twitter handle to express his grief over the veteran actor’s demise. He wrote: “The beautiful Actress, Legend of Punjab #Daljeetkaur has sadly left us with her beautiful memories. May god bless her soul and she rest in eternal peace. 🙏🏼.”

Actor Satish Shah tweeted, “A dear friend and batchmate Daljeet Kaur the Punjabi lead girl of yester years passed away on 17th this month. May her soul find eternal peace. FTII 1976 batch.”

For the unversed, apart from being a versatile actress, Daljeet Kaur was also a national player of Kabaddi and Hockey back in her time.

Talking about her film career, she played roles in superhit Punjabi films including, ‘Putt Jattan De’, ‘Mamla Gadbad Hai’, ‘Ki Banu Duniya Da’, ‘Sarpanch’, ‘Patola’ among others. Daljeet played Gippy Grewal’s mom in Singh VS Kaur (2013).
