Veteran Bengali singer-songwriter Pratul Mukhopadhyay passed away on Saturday at the age of 83. According to reports, he was was admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata and was in critical condition. Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited him in the hospital.
He is known for his songs ‘Ami Banglay Gan Gai’ and ‘Dinga Bhashao Sagore’. He has released many albums throughout his career including Pathorey Pathorey Naachey Aagun, Jete Hobey, Kuttus Kottas, Aandhar Naame, Aanek Natun Bandhu Hok, and more.
He also featured in documentaries ‘Songs of Pratul Mukhopadhyay’ and ‘Dinga Bhasao’.
