Remo D’Souza Case: Remo D’Souza, along with his wife Lizelle and five other people were booked for defrauding a dance group of 11.96 crore following a police complaint. The case was filed at the Mira Road police station in Thane district under the sections Sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating), and other relevant Indian Penal Code sections. After two days, the ace choreographer has shared his first statement in the case and requested people to stop spreading fake news.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Remo posted a note and addressed the reports of his alleged involvement in a fraud. “It has come to our notice through media reports that some complaint has been registered alleging fraud in regards to a certain dance troupe. It’s disheartening that such information has been published.”

He further assured fans about sharing his side of the story at the right time and meanwhile asked people to not spread fake news. “We would like to request everyone to abstain from spreading rumours before ascertaining true facts. We shall put our case forward in due time and will continue to cooperate with the authorities in every way possible, like we have done so far. We would like to thank our family, friends and fans for the outpouring of love and continuous support.”

About the case
A 26-year-old dancer has accused Remo along with six other people of cheating his troupe between 2018 and 2024, reported PTI. In the complaint, the dancer claimed that his troupe participated in a dance reality show and won it, however, the accused posed as winners and took away the prize money.
Others accused in the complaint include Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, and Ramesh Gupta. A Police official has confirmed that they have started the investigation in this case.
