Back in 2020, producer Madhu Mantena unveiled his ambitious plans to create a trilogy based on the Indian epic Ramayana, with Nitesh Tiwari at the helm. After an extensive preparation phase, the project is now set to commence production. As per the reports, Ramayana is scheduled to begin filming in the first quarter of 2024, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, and Sai Pallavi in prominent roles.
Nitesh Tiwari and the team have been actively working on creating the world of Ramayana, and the blueprint is finally ready. The VFX elements have been meticulously prepared by the Oscar-winning company, DNEG. It’s a world that will astonish audiences. However, the true strength of Ramayana lies not only in its visuals but in its simplistic storytelling and compelling inter-character emotions. The entire world of Ramayana has already been brought to life using VFX, and it’s now time for the actors to step into this magnificent creation.
In Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor assumes the role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi portrays Sita Ma. Besides, Yash will also be seen playing a pivotal role. He will be seen as theten-headed Ravana. As per Pinkvilla, the filming is slated to commence in February 2024, with Ranbir and Sai taking on the roles of Lord Ram and Sita. The first instalment of the trilogy will primarily focus on their characters, leading up to the Sita Haran conflict. The duo will be filming from February to August 2024, marking the completion of Ramayana: Part One. Yash, who plays Ravana, will shoot his portions in July 2024.
While Yash has an extended appearance in Ramayana: Part One, his character will take centre stage in the second instalment, which is set in Sri Lanka. For the initial part, he has allocated 15 days for filming. All three principal leads have successfully undergone look tests and are enthusiastic about immersing themselves in the world of this timeless tale of love, brought to the big screen by Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar.
