New Delhi: On one side, it’s Aamir Khan’s long waited Laal Singh Chaddha, whereas on the other it’s Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, which happens to be his third release in 2022. Both movies had a lukewarm opening on day one. Let us look at the comparative box office collection of both the films on their second day round.

Starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the movie opened with a decent collection of ₹12 crores. The film collected around ₹7 crores on Friday. Whereas, it saw a drop of 40% on Day 2, according to Boxofficeindia.com. The two-day total of the film would stand at around ₹19 crores at the domestic box office.

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer, however, did a little better on day one. As per reports of Boxofficeindia.com, the movie opened with a big boost. But on the second day dropped to the 30% range and should collect somewhere in the 5.50-6 crore net range on day two. The film had opened with a collection of ₹8.2 crores but fell to around ₹6 crores the next day.
Aamir’s 1300 shows of Laal Singh Chaddha Vs Akshay’s 1000 shows of Raksha Bandhan
As per the latest reports, cinema owners have voluntarily reduced the shows of both films to increase occupancy in limited shows.
According to the report, “Both the films were released with around 10,000 shows across the country and neither of them warranted this sort of showcasing. Even on the opening day, the occupancy was as low as 10 to 12 people in maximum shows.”
The report goes on to say that 1300 shows of Laal Singh Chaddha and 1000 shows of Raksha Bandhan have been reduced all across the country.
