Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda is battling for his life after meeting with a road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday. According to reports, his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly appeared on the road, resulting in a severe crash. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors confirmed serious head and spine injuries, followed by a cardiac arrest. He was later shifted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali for advanced treatment.
In the latest update, Rajvir continues to remain on life support at Fortis. His neurological condition is described as critical, “His neurological condition remains critical, with minimal brain activity and no significant improvement despite ongoing advanced medical management,” the statement read.
MRI scans revealed hypoxic brain changes caused by CPR administered at the primary centre. Tests and scans of the brain and spine show “extensive damage to the cervical and dorsal regions, resulting in profound weakness in all four limbs”.
“He continues to require prolonged ventilator support. The overall prognosis remains guarded,” it added.
Many fellow artists have been urging fans to pray for Rajvir Jawanda following his critical motorcycle accident. Recently, during his Hong Kong concert, Diljit Dosanjh paused the show to request the audience to pray for Rajvir. He called Rajvir “a dear brother” and “a wonderful singer.” Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was among those who visited the hospital to check on him.
Who is Rajvir Jawanda?
Rajveer Jawanda started his music career in 2014 and became popular with his hit song “Kali Jawande Di.” Besides singing, he has acted in movies like Mindo Taseeldarni and Subedar Joginder Singh. Before joining the music industry, he worked in the Punjab Police. He now lives in Mohali with his family.
