New Delhi: Before becoming a superstar, actor Rajinikanth used to be a bus driver in Bangalore. Although he is an icon and inspiration but what makes him special is his simplicity.

On Tuesday, ‘Thalaiva’ made an unannounced visit to the Jayanagar bus station where he used to work. His white MUV stopped outside the warehouse door and Rajinikanth stepped out to see how his first workplace had changed since the 1970s.

His driver friend Raj Bahadur encouraged him to enter the film industry and is a seasoned director and verteran K Balachander renamed him Rajinikanth.

Happy Faces

Reminiscing about the past, the 72-year-old actor meets drivers, ticket collectors and other workers at the bus station, he even took selfies with them and others gathered to catch a glimpse of their favorite superstar.
Before his visit, no one knew he was going to the bus station, not even the bosses.

Jailor Achievements

Rajinikanth’s latest film ‘Jailer’ was released earlier this month and has grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide and is the second highest grossing Tamil film of all time.
Directed by Tamil director Nelson, “Jailer” is a dark comedy action film. The film marks Rajinikanth’s return to the big screen after two years.
