Rajasthan Man Held in Karnataka for Issuing Threatening Messages to Salman Khan

Bhikharam sent a threatening message to Mumbai traffic control room, demanding an apology from Salman at a Bishnoi community temple, or a ransom of Rs 5 crore

In the recent development in the Salman Khan death-threat case, Mumbai police have arrested Bhikharam Jalaram Bishnoi for allegedly issuing a death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Bhikharam, a welder and resident of Jalore, Rajasthan, was arrested from Karnataka.

As informed by Mumbai Police, the accused was detained by Haveri Police after receiving a tip-off from the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS), who traced him through his mobile phone number. He was later handed over to the Mumbai Police. “Based on information received from the Maharashtra ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad), one person was apprehended in Haveri Town and handed over to them today,” Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar told PTI.

The accused was constantly changing his location in Karnataka before moving to Haveri about a month and a half ago. He was employed at construction sites and was living in a rented room in Gowdar Oni, the sources informed

When inquired about sending the threatening message for Salman, Bhikharam did not give a clear reason. A police source shared, “It appears that he sent the message for fun and there is no serious threat involved.” However, the investigation is underway and the police are still verifying his motive.

What was the threat?

Bhikharam sent a threatening message to Mumbai traffic control room, demanding an apology from Salman at a Bishnoi community temple, or a ransom of Rs 5 crore. The message read, “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our temple and apologise or pay ₹5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active.” Bhikhara claimed that he is the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Salman Khan’s security beefed up

Following the death of Salman Khan’s close friend and NCP leader Baba Siddique, Salman Khan’s security was beefed up. In the days following the brutal murder, Salman received several threatening messages from different people, all in the name of the Bishnoi gang. Since then, the actor has been surrounded by security officials. He has been busy shooting reality show Bigg Boss 18 and his upcoming film Sikander.
