The eagerly-awaited action-thriller Raid 2 featuring Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh opened its pre-bookings today and the so far has been very promising. According to reports from the trade, the film sold over 80,000 tickets for the Day 1 shows in a matter of a few hours. The bookings apart from the blocked seats have already taken the collection beyond the Rs. 15 crore figure.
Solid Growth Through The Day
By 8 PM on April 30, Raid 2 already sold around 1.6 lakh tickets and grossed a pre-opening advance of Rs. 4.35 crores. Experts in the trade feel that the last pre-booked figure would reach Rs.5 to Rs.5.5 crores gross at midnight. As a comparison, Ajay Devgn's new hit Shaitaan clocked Rs.4.15 crores in presells and collected Rs.14.75 crores net on day one at the box office. By the momentum it had so far, Raid 2 appears set to equal or beat that showing.

Release Expectations
Scheduled to release on more than 3,500 screens all over India, Raid 2 will be one of the biggest cinematic releases this year. The wide release and the brand value built from the successful first installment provide the sequel with a robust platform. The opening is expected in the Rs.15-17 crore net range based on final ticketing figures and attendance, respectively.

Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 is the sequel of 2018 action-thriller Raid which is all set to hit theatres on May 1, 2025. Also starring Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh, the film continues the story of an IRS officer Amay Patnaik, with Riteish Deshmukh playing the antagonist Dada Manohar Bhai and Vaani Kapoor playing the role of Patnaik’s wife.
