Tina Turner death: The American-born singer Tina Turner took her last breath on Wednesday at the age of 83. The representative of the ‘Queen of Rock and Roll’ said that she died peacefully after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.

In her 73 years successful career, the singer has won eight Grammys and also acted in some films.

When Music legends visited temples in India

As per a report in The Juggernaut, The legend visited temples in India to get inspiration for her role. Giving her views about India, she told Madhu Jain, “But the more I saw here, the more I realized that there was something I could relate to. Take away all the cars and the bikes, take it all away and you are very close to a time in my own life.” The film was called The Goddess.

Tina’s upcoming film

As per the media report, The supernatural was a theme of the movie, which also starred Matthew Modine. It concerns a goddess named Shakti who possesses the capacity to influence the past, present, and future. The movie, which takes place in ancient India, shows the bond between Goddess Shakti and three Indians, including a painter played by Modine. Turner visited Varanasi, travelled across the Ganga, saw South Indian temples, and met actors, dancers, and singers from the film industry while touring India in preparation for her role.

About the movie, Tina had told Eastern Eye, “I was told about a year ago that Merchant Ivory were doing a film which had something to do with legends and goddesses, I said, yes, yes.” “Everyone expects Tina Turner to come back with a new album, but I will give them this movie.”

About the film and Tina, Merchant-Ivory said, “The film has such energy that only Tina could have played the lead role. I think she is natural; the greatest gift we have received in the world of music and dance. In real life, too, she’s a Goddess.”

However, Ismail Merchant’s untimely passing following surgery prevented the movie from ever being filmed. In 2010, there was some rumour that the movie may be resurrected. However, it quickly subsided.
