The world is ready to witness another level of craze in cinemas as Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil’s film Pushpa 2: The Rule gears up for its release on December 5. The anticipation surrounding the sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise hinted at a phenomenal response to advance bookings. However, the actual response has exceeded expectations, breaking numerous records even before the film’s release.
Notably, Pushpa 2: The Rule has minted over Rs 100 crore gross worldwide on its opening day, becoming the second film of 2024, after Prabhas’ Kalki 2898, to cross the Rs 100 crore mark on the debut day. In terms of domestic collection, it has surpassed Kalki’s collection too. While Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer had scored 62 crores gross, Allu Arjun’s film has managed around 66.50 crores gross (as of December 3), and the numbers are only growing, reported Sacnilk.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is expected to cross the Rs 200 crores (gross) mark start in India, whereas the worldwide opening might touch Rs 300 crores.
As per a report by Pinkvilla, the film has sold a massive 2.43 lakh tickets in the top national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis, for the opening day alone. PVR Inox has sold around 1.97 lakh tickets, while Cinepolis has given entry to 46,000 tickets so far.
About Pushpa 2: The Rule
The film starring Allu Arjun as the leader of the illegal red sandalwood smuggler syndicate, will release in five languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. It’s been produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who have done a fabulous job in promoting the movie, not just within the country but also outside. After a heavy promotion, the film is set for release in in 2D, 4DX, and IMAX formats.
The release in 3D version has been put on hold for now. A report by News 18 quotes a source citing the reason behind the delay. “The 3D version is not yet ready. Hence, the makers of the film decided to forgo the release of the film in 3D this week. As a result, on December 5, the film will only be played in 2D versions across the country and the world in various languages.” 3D version of Pushpa 2 will be released next Friday, December 13.
