Allu Arjun grabbed the headlines after he was arrested in connection to a woman’s death during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’ at the Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad. He has now been granted interim bail and addressed the media as well after coming out of jail. There have also been several reports regarding how the actor spent the night in jail.
According to a senior official of the Telangana Police’s prisons department, ‘Pushpa 2’ spent the night ‘normally’ and took rice and vegetable curry for dinner. He told PTI, “He was quite normal and did not appear depressed. Normally, the dinner time is 5:30 pm. However, late admissions are also served food. He had rice and vegetable curry, and was treated as a special prisoner as ordered by the court.”
Earlier, Allu Arjun’s lawyer claimed that the actor was not released despite the high court’s order. However, the official shared that prisoners are not released after 7 pm as per the jail manual.
The official further added, “Only in exceptional cases, the release time is extended by up to 9 pm. Arjun was brought at 6:30 pm yesterday and released at 6:20 am today. The Jailer should be present to complete the formalities for an inmate’s release. The interim bail order physical copy arrived from the court only at 11.30 PM.”
Allu Arjun was released from jail on Saturday morning and addressed the media gathered outside his residence. Addressing the media, the actor said, “We are extremely sorry for the family. I will personally be there to help them in whatever way possible. I was inside the theatre watching a movie with my family and the accident happened outside. It has no direct connection with me. It was purely accidental and unintentional… I have been going to the same theatre for the last 20 years, and I have been to the same place more than 30 times. There has never been an accident like this before. I should reserve my comments because I don’t want to say anything that will tamper the case…”
For the unversed, a 35-year-old woman died at the Sandhya theatre on December 4 due to stampede after Allu Arjun visited the venue during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’. Allu Arjun earlier expressed his grief on this tragic incident and announced the donation of Rs 25 lakh.
