Pushpa 2: The Rule is set for its world-wide release on December 5 and the team is leaving no stone unturned in promoting it. The last event held in Chennai on November 24, however witnessed something unexpected, as ace composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) waged a war of words against film’s producers Naveen Yerneni, Mohan Cherukuri and Ravi Shankar. DSP pointed out how the producers, specifically Ravi, was upset with him because of the delay in composing the film’s background score. Thereafter, the composer was replaced by S Thaman, Sam CS and Ajaneesh Loknath.
DSP’s Remark
Addressing the issues, the national-award winning composer said, “Ravi sir, you’ve been blaming me saying that I didn’t deliver the song or the background score on time. I know you love me. Where there is love, there are complaints as well. But, I think you have more complaints about me than love.”
DSP then mentioned the unfair behaviour towards him during the ongoing event and said, “Even now, I came to the venue 20-25 minutes ago. They asked me to wait to make an entry for the camera. I am shy. I am shameless only when I’m on stage. Off-stage, I’m the shyest person you’ll meet. I could hear the song Kissik being played, so I came running. As soon as I arrived, you said, ‘Wrong timing, sir. You’re late’. What can I do?”
DSP along took at dig at Ravi when fans started to cheer for him ahead of his speech. DSP said, “I know what you want, no one gives anything to us unless we ask – be it remuneration or on-screen credit.”
DSP Expresses Gratitude
DSP also thanked everyone for making the first instalment of the film such a big hit that also gave a boost to his career. “You all celebrated Pushpa 1 as a festival after its release. For Pushpa 2, you have made it a festival even before the release. Thanks to all across the world for making Pushpa 1 a blockbuster. For everyone, God provides a great chance in their career. I got my peak with Pushpa 1, and I am excited for the second part,” he said during the event.
The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. The film’s much-talked about song Kissik, featuring Sreeleela and Allu Arjun was released by the makers on Monday. The song has already created a lot of buzz around the film, which will hit the screens on December 5.
