Dilijit Dosanjh, Punjabi actor and singer recently received praise from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy for his sold-out show in the US state. Murphy called it ‘a great moment for the Punjabi community.’
Sharing a video of Dosanjh with several audience members gushing over the singer, Murphy wrote, “Thank you @diljitdosanjh for bringing your tour to New Jersey last night with a sold-out show at the @PruCenter. Diljit’s success in the US is a huge moment for the Punjabi community, including thousands of New Jersey and who grew up dancing to his music.

He ended his note with a Punjabi line that has become popular since Dosanjh first used it during his Coachella concert: ‘Punjabi aa gaye!’ (Punjabis are here!)
Later, Diljit replied to Murphy’s message with a crossed-arms emoji.
On the work front, apart from gigs, Diljit was recently seen starring in Imtiaz Ali’s Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila. Also starring Parineeti Chopra, the film has music by AR Rahman.
