Chaos erupted outside Kalyani Nagar’s pub Baller as 14 members of the Sakal Hindi Samaj, who were protesting outside the venue, were arrested. The members were allegedly protesting the appearance of Imran Khan, the famed singer, at the pub for a scheduled show. The protestors claimed that he is a Pakistani singer.

However, police, who intervened to pacify the situation, clarified that the artist is in fact a Dutch citizen and was scheduled to perform on Sunday. They added that the protestors were misled by a social media post falsely alleging that the singer was of Pakistani origin.
Even after being informed of the facts, the protestors allegedly attempted to obstruct patrons from entering the venue. Police further stated that to prevent escalation, 14 protestors were taken into custody. To ensure peace and prevent further disruptions, adequate police personnel were deployed at the site.
The performer appears to be on a tour, and fervent and stirred-up emotions—possibly due to past incidents—have led to such reactions. Before the event in Pune, the singer was seen performing in Hyderabad.
Imran Khan, born in The Hague, Netherlands (as per Wikipedia), rose to fame in 2009 after his song Amplifier became an urban music anthem. His 2013 hit Satisfya has amassed close to 977 million views on YouTube.
