New Delhi: For Priyanka Chopra, this Daughter’s Day was extremely meaningful. It was er first Daughter’s Day as a mother as the global star welcomed her baby Malti Marie Chopra Jonas earlier this year. The actress and her husband, singer-actor Nick Jonas, welcomed their daughter via surrogacy. The pair is constantly careful not to show their child’s face. Priyanka Chopra celebrated Daughter’s Day this year by posting a sweet photo of her and Malti coupled with a vintage image of herself dancing with her late father Dr. Ashok Chopras. In 2013, Priyanka’s father passed away.

Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram stories to share a collage of two pictures. Along with it, she wrote, “A day late but it’s always International Daughter’s Day in my book (sic).” She also added Stevie Wonder’s song Isn’t She Lovely to her Instagram story. In the first photo, Priyanka is seen cuddling her baby close. In the second photo, the actress is seen dancing with her dad Dr Ashok Chopra.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka Chopra is all set for her next Hollywood project, and it has an Indian connection. The actress is scheduled to appear in a romantic comedy in which she portrays a Punjabi woman. Priyanka will co-star with Mindy Kaling in the film. This is their first time working together. Speaking to Forbes, Kaling said why she and Chopra had such great chemistry “I’m an Indian American Bengali girl from the East Coast, and Priyanka Chopra is a Punjabi Indian from India in the movie we’re in together. Because of how different it is, our relationship together is extremely enjoyable.”

Priyanka will also be seen in Citadel. The Citadel franchise is an action-packed spy series with strong emotional perspectives starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra. The Russo Brothers of the Avengers are in charge of the project, which has Amazon’s support. The creators of The Family Man’s Indian series will be Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Citadel was a “multi-layered worldwide brand with interconnected local language productions from India, Italy, and Mexico,” according to the creators. The US version of the project was referred to as the “mothership” by Amazon. The Citadel filming was completed in June 2022.
