In March 2013, a private MMS clip of Mona Singh got leaked, creating a stir on internet. Singh, however, confirmed that the clip was morphed and filed a complaint against unknown individuals. In an interview to Hindustan Times, Mona called the act disgraceful and added, “Someone has gone to the extent of morphing someone’s face on to someone else’s body. If this can happen to me, it can happen to any innocent girl. I’m glad that I’m a celebrity and can talk to the media. Only the media can help me get out of this.”

Radhika Apte

Radhika Apte faced a lot of trolling after a nude video of her went viral on internet. Though it was a clip from her film Parched, Radhika clarified that it is not her in the scene. While addressing the issue, she told Grazia, “I really needed a role like this because when you’re in Bollywood you’re constantly told what to do with your body and I always maintained that I would never do anything to my body or face. When a nude clip of mine leaked, while I was filming Clean Shaven, I was trolled badly, and it did affect me.” Talking about the affect of the incident, Radhika said that she couldn’t step out of the house for four days. “Not because of what the media was saying but because my driver, watchman, and my stylist’s driver recognised me from the images,” she revealed. Radhika could not do anything besides ignoring it.

Shahid Kapoor

As a 24-year-old boy, Shahid Kapoor also became a victim of video leak when an intimate clip of him, kissing his then-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor Khan was all over the internet. While none of the two ever spoke about it, Shahid decided to give his first comment in 2023. While talking to Mid-Day, he said, “I felt like my privacy had been invaded and I could not do anything to protect (myself). So I was a mess wondering ‘what’s happened, what’s going on?’ Of course it affects you a lot and at that age specially. You don’t even know your own feelings and you’re figuring out how to be with a girl and you’re dating. You’re both actors, in different places and then this happens.”

Riya Sen

Actor Riya Sen was trying to make big in the Hindi film industry when a private video of her with boyfriend Ashmit Patel got leaked online, thereby putting an end to her career. Riya addressed the controversy and accused Ashmit of violating her privacy. “I know Ashmit is not trustworthy. I accuse him of violating my privacy and causing mental agony. Every artist has a right to have his/her privacy and one should maintain it at any cost. But Ashmit conspired with some of the crew members of Rokda (their forthcoming film) and did something which was unexpected of him,” she told Hindustan Times.

Akshara Singh

Bhojpuri actor Akshara Singh was caught in the eye of storm after an intimate video allegedly showing her surfaced online. However, the actor called it morphed. “Whoever did such an act, I do not care about all these things. Someone made a statement. Even I haven’t watched the MMS video yet. Do you want to know whether I’m in this viral video? I’m not going to cry over such a cheap act, and it doesn’t bother me,” she told Etimes.
