Producer Prerna Arora is in a happy state of mind. She and her co-producer Shivin Narang of Zee Studios have wrapped up a 40-day schedule of their supernatural thriller Jatadhara.
“We shot in the forests of Mount Abu in unexplored locations with an eclectic cast and crew. I will be honest with you. I had my heart in my mouth, what with so many stars involved. But they all pitched in with their best. I feel blessed. Sudheer Babu, my leading man, was with us all the way. His action sequences have turned out so well, we feel nothing like this has been seen in our cinema. Jatadhara will take him to the next level. Sonakshi Sinha was with us for 25 of those 40 days and she was a dream to work with. We also have Shilpa Shirodkar making a comeback, and we have Indra Krishna, who is also a part of the Ramayan,” says Prerna Arora proudly.
The action-horror opus will have a mythological twist.
Elaborating on the hush-hush subject, producer Prerna Arora says, “It is a fantasy film, but a universal subject and based on a folk tale, like Munjya, which was a folk tale based in Maharashtra. Our film is based on a South Indian folk tale, so it is a very, very different kind of supernatural horror film. Something which audiences have never seen before.”
Like Mahesh Babu’s proposed film with Rajamouli, there will be a lot of jungle scenes in Jatadhara.
Jatadhara delves into the mystery surrounding the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, unravelling the story of its hidden treasures and the scientific and mystical phenomena that have baffled historians and researchers for years. The film will explore not just the treasure itself but the legends and theories about the temple’s unexplained forces, blending suspense, adventure, and mystery as the story unfolds. Jatadhara promises heart-pumping action scenes.
To prepare for the physically demanding role, Sudheer Babu underwent rigorous training for the action sequences.
The collaboration between Zee Studios and Prerna Arora along with the vision oriented producers Umesh KR Bansal , Prerna Arora , Shivin Narang , Rajiv Agarwal , Arvind Agarwal , Nikhil Nanda , Monesh Manghnani will bring a fresh perspective to one of India’s most fascinating folktales , offering an exhilarating exploration of what lies beyond the known world.
