Prabhu Deva: ‘I’m Open To Doing ABCD 3 With Remo’

Prabhu is currently on a break  from direction. “I am swamped in  acting assignments and enjoying every bit of it. It’s a phase. I’ve as many as six  projects as an actor on the floors in Tamil, Malayalam and one in Hindi also. The last film I directed was Radhe with Salman Sir. I don’t know when I will return to direction.”

On June 19, Prabhu Deva’s  dance  film ABCD 2  co-starring Varun Dhawan turned 10 years  old. On the occasion the reticent dancer-choreographer-actor-director revealed a third part of the dance franchise is  on the anvil.

“I really enjoyed surrendering  myself to my fellow-choreographer Remo D’Souza. He directed me  through the  film. All the  choreography was  done  by others. I just had to act  and dance,” says Prabhu Deva.

So which one does he  enjoy more? “You mean acting  or dancing. To be honest, dancing is  also a form of acting. So  I don’t see them as separate.  But I  don’t enjoy choreographing my own dances. This is  why I enjoyed ABCD so much.”

This is  why  the ABCD franchise means so much to Prabhu. “With ABCD and ABCD2 Remo D’Souza has given birth to a new genre of entertainment in Indian cinema.I could’ve directed a dance film in Hindi. But I’m glad I didn’t. I don’t think I’d have been able to do it as well as Remo. He is amazing in telling a story woven around dancing.I couldn’t have done any better. I am just happy being a part of ABCD, ABCD2, 3,4 and 5 for as long as he makes them.”
