Telugu superstar Prabhas has become one of the highest-paid actors in ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’ The highly-anticipated film has been released today, June 27. Reports indicate that Prabhas charged a fee of Rs 80 crore for his role in this Nag Ashwin directorial. It has also been reported that Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan received an equal sum for their participation in the film. Additionally, it is said that ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was made on a budget of Rs 600 crores.
As reported, Prabhas typically commands around Rs 150 crore per film. However, for Kalki 2898 AD, he reduced his fee by half, earning Rs 80 crore.
According to the report, Deepika requested Rs 20 crores for her debut Telugu project. In this film, she portrays Sumathi, a woman carrying a child destined to transform the world of Kalki 2898. The trailers depict her with a prominent baby bump, safeguarding her child from harm.

Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan were reportedly paid Rs 20 crore each for their roles in ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ the same amount as Deepika. Amitabh portrays the formidable Ashwatthama, a role that has been showcased impressively in the trailers. Fans who saw the first day first show have lauded his performance. On the other hand, Kamal plays the villainous Kali, who is determined to kill Sumathi’s baby in the film.
Kalki 2898 AD has had a spectacular debut, selling over 1.9 million tickets across all languages in the country. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is expected to break several box office records, with industry experts predicting a net opening of over Rs 100 crore.
According to reports, more than 1.5 million tickets have been sold for the Telugu version alone. The film has already generated over Rs 50 crore through substantial advance bookings.
