UP65: Gaganjeet Singh’s comedy-drama series UP65 is going to release tomorrow (June 8, 2023) at JioCinema. The web series stars a huge cast of new and talented actors such as Shine Pandey, Pritam Jaiswal, Abbas Ali Ghaznavi, Jay Thakar, Pragati Mishra, Ria Nalavade and Anmol Jyotir as pivotal characters.
Now, in an exclusive interview with news24online.com, UP65 fame Shine Pandey aka Nishant talked about his first series and gave us some informative content.
1. First of all, I would like to ask you what was your reaction when Gaganjeet offered you this series.
When I was offered to play Nishant in UP65, I just couldn’t digest it for a while so the feeling was kind of mixed and heavy. Then later as days passed I could actually feel this happening and from then on starters md getting very exciting throughout.
2. Were you nervous on your first day of shooting?
I wasn’t nervous. The atmosphere on set has always been easy breezy. Our coolest director Gaganjeet Singh always made sure that we are actually having fun throughout and that really uplifted everyone. And as far as I remember, all I was feeling on the first day was what my character Nishant was going through and his thoughts.
3. As you know, many films and series are already based on this content, so how is it different from others?
UP65 is just a feeling. When I read the novel UP65 which is written by Nikhil Sachan I was transported into a world of Banaras. More than being different this is something that people can genuinely relate to and I can say so because I come from a engineering hostel background in my school time (when i was preparing for JEE).
“This really sets a different tone to the show. I believe everyone’s journey is different in real life as it and so the same goes for the characters we see on screen. So no matter if this is another youth college series, this show too will have new experiences for everyone to watch and feel. You will find Nishant to be just like any other boy yet you’ll find him different,” he added.

4. Any specific reason for choosing OTT as your debut in the cinema world?
There wasn’t any specific reason but yes OTT is doing really well in all terms. In my perspective as an actor to me all mediums kind of look the same, since the amount of effort I would give for a role would equally be the same for all.
5. As you know the series is based on students and their struggle with career, so any life lessons you have learned from this series?
Portraying the role of an IIT’an is something I could not achieve during my time. But I’ve seen the life very closely, since I was also preparing for JEE (as I mentioned before). Lessons that I’ve learnt is same as what the show says ‘ Kuch bhi lene ka magar load nahi leneka’. This is what I’ve been applying to my life and want to keep applying.
6. Any plans for a big cinema? Or any other food projects are coming?
Yes, I’m sure universe has got some big plans for me and big screen would also be one of them. At this moment, I am extremely grateful for this to happening to me.

Nikhil Sachan’s novel served as the inspiration for UP 65. The series is created by Fresh Lime Films’ Jyoti Deshpande, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. Starting on June 8, it will be available for free on the site and is being produced by Jio Cinema.
