Ponniyin Selvan 2 Box Office Day 14: Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 by Mani Ratnam was in theatres for two weeks. The film’s international gross is currently approaching Rs 350 crore. Despite being a smaller collection than Part 1, the two PS films have proven to be a profitable endeavour for Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. Domestically, the picture is still making money. In India, the period drama grossed over Rs 160 crore (nett) and is expected to rise more over the weekend.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 opened in theatres on April 28 to rave reviews. AR Rahman created the music, Ravi Varman shot the film, and Sreekar Prasad edited it.
We previously reported that PS 2 grossed more than Rs 300 crore globally in just two weeks. It is now approaching the Rs 350 crore mark. The film is doing well at the box office in India. On its 14th day, May 11, the film is reported to have made Rs 2.33 crore in India.
This brings the total domestic box office collection to Rs 163.19 crore (nett). On May 11, the Tamil version of the film had a 20.08 percent occupancy.
About the film
Ponniyin Selvan is Aishwarya and Vikram’s second collaboration, following their acclaimed 2010 film Raavan. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.
Composer AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and cinematographer Ravi Varman are part of the technical staff.
