After one week in theatres, the movie has now earned close to Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office. Early figures for the movie have emerged, and they indicate that PS 2 had a modest decline as it now advances in its box office take.

On April 28, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 opened in theatres worldwide in various languages. Similar to its forerunner, the movie was widely anticipated and had a nationwide release in India. In comparison to the other movies now showing in theatres, the movie is doing well.
The Mani Ratnam-directed film did well at the box office despite seeing a decline on Thursday, May 4. According to trade figures, the movie made Rs 6.60 crore (net) on Day 7 in India. The seven-day total in India increased to Rs 128.60 crore as a result. And as the second week of the movie’s release approaches, Day 8 early estimates indicate that the movie made Rs 5.50 crore. The current total raised is Rs 134.50 crore.

About the film
Ponniyin Selvan is Aishwarya and Vikram’s second collaboration, following their acclaimed 2010 film Raavan. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.
