Ponniyin Selvan 2 box office collection Day 7: Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 by Mani Ratnam is soon to join the Rs 130 crore club at the domestic office. The historical drama has successfully spent a week in theatres and generated incredible attendance. PS 2’s box office take, however, is reportedly substantially smaller than that of its predecessor. It remains to be seen if the film would gain steam during the next weekend.
Box Office Collection
On April 28, the film opened in theatres worldwide in various languages. Similar to the first instalment, the movie was widely anticipated when it was released across India. Despite declining once more on Thursday, May 4, the Mani Ratnam-directed film is doing well at the box office. The movie reportedly made around Rs 6.50 crore (net) in India, per trade figures. The seven-day total in India now stands at Rs. 128.50 crore.

About the Film
Ponniyin Selvan is Aishwarya and Vikram’s second collaboration, following their acclaimed 2010 film Raavan. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.
Composer AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and cinematographer Ravi Varman are part of the technical staff.
