A sequel to the epic two-part historical saga is performing well at the box office. Considering the film’s craze and its stellar cast, it’s no wonder that its box office numbers were high.

The movie PS2 continued to draw large crowds to theatres after the first day, when it had a significant opening-day business. Actors Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, and Vikram Prabhu among others reprise their roles in the second episode of the sweeping drama that chronicles the history of the Chola Dynasty.
Early projections indicate that the movie made more than Rs. 50 crore on Day 2 at the box office. Aside from the promotional tours, the Mani Ratnam film has drawn large crowds to theatres thanks to good word of mouth. The first installment’s revenue in India was about Rs. 327 crores. And now that the second one is doing well, the movie’s second installment is predicted to do even better financially.
About The Movie
Ponniyin Selvan is Aishwarya and Vikram’s second collaboration, following their acclaimed 2010 film Raavan. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.
