Ponniyin Selvan 2 box office collection Day 11: Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 remains in operation at the cash registers of Tamil Nadu and international markets. The film’s producers have announced that worldwide, the period drama has exceeded Rs 300 crores at the box office. In India, the film is still a huge success at the box office. It is safe to assume that Lyca Production and Madras Talkies have made good money from both parts of Ponniyin Selvan.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 was made available at cinemas on 28 April in the face of huge expectations. More than Rs 500 billion were earned worldwide in the first part, and positive reactions were received.
The official Twitter account of Lyca Productions announced on May 8th that the film had earned over 300 crores worldwide. Their tweet read, “#PS2 continues conquering the box office worldwide with a 300 crore+ collection! (sic).”

The movie saw a steep drop in receipts on Monday, May 8th. In India, the film is expected to earn approximately 4 crore nett. That’s nearly Rs 6 crores below the collection on Sunday, May 7th.

About the Film
Ponniyin Selvan is Aishwarya and Vikram’s second collaboration, following their acclaimed 2010 film Raavan. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.
Composer AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and cinematographer Ravi Varman are part of the technical staff.
