Ponniyin Selvan 2 box office collection Day 1: It has finally been possible to see Ponniyin Selvan 2 in theatres. The second chapter of Mani Ratnam’s monumental work has received favourable reviews and had a robust opening day at the box office. In the southern region of India, the first chapter of the film was also a big success. PS 2 appears to be aiming for record-breaking as well.
Box Office Collection
Early projections indicate that the film made between Rs 33 and Rs 35 crores on its first day across all languages. The movie was estimated to have received around 10 crores in advance bookings. However, thanks to the good press, a lot of people have flocked to the theatres to see the Mani Ratnam film. The first instalment’s revenue was approximately Rs. 327 crores in India and over Rs. 169 crores ($20.70 million) abroad. The movie was made for about Rs. 496 crores at the international box office.

Ponniyin Selvan is Aishwarya and Vikram’s second collaboration, following their acclaimed 2010 film Raavan. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.
Composer AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and cinematographer Ravi Varman are part of the technical staff.
