Story:
Pluribus is set in a world where most of humanity is transformed by an unknown alien virus. Only 12 individuals remain untouched by the virus, and at the middle of the plot is Carol Sturka, a historical romance novelist who finds herself one of the few unaffected. The virus makes everyone unnaturally happy and optimistic. The story has spooky elements of black comedy, drama and science fiction, using its bizarre way to ask deep questions about individuality, conformity and what happens when happiness is compulsion.
Cast
The show features Rhea Seehorn in the arc as the lead role of Carol Sturka; she previously worked with Vince Gilligan on Better Call Saul. Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga are also in the series, playing important roles. Guest appearances by the likes of Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte blooming the show.
Pluribus is already renewed for the second season. The show’s name has been grabbing attention due to its unique title. The title reportedly refers to ‘e pluribus unum’, which is a Latin phrase and means “out of many, one”.
