New Delhi: Sidharth Malhotra, Ajay Devgn and Rakulpreet starrer Thank God has once again found itself in trouble. A petition has been filed by Shree Chitragupta Welfare Trust in Supreme Court seeking a stay on the release of the film.
The petition sought a ban on the release of the film Thank God on theatres, OTT platform. Actor Ajay Devgan, CBFC, director Indra Kumar, producer Bhushan Kumar have been made parties in this petition of Shree Chitragupta Welfare Trust.
Earlier, Indra Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Siddhartha Malhotra have all been named as defendants in a case brought by attorney Himanshu Srivastava in a Jaunpur court. The petitioner claims that the film’s recently released trailer mocks religion and has damaged religious sentiment.
In his petition, Srivastava said that Ajay Devgn, wearing a suit, is seen playing Chitragupta. in one of the scene he is seen cracking jokes and using objectionable language. “Chitragupta is regarded as the Lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man’s good and bad deeds. Such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation since it hurts religious sentiments,” the petition said.
Nora Fatehi will also make her special appearance in the song “Manike Mage Hithe” remake. This film will be facing a big clash with Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Ram Setu’ which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nusshratt Bharuccha in the lead roles.
Sidharth Malhotra, Ajay Devgn, and Rakulpreet Singh starrer Thank God is one of the most awaited films of the year.
