Pathaan Controversy: Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, has already generated a lot of controversies. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, two well-known right-wing organisations, have caused a stir over the movie.
VHP and Bajrang Dal activists demonstrated against the release of Pathaan on Wednesday in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur mall. Members of both parties tore apart Shah Rukh Khan movie posters and other advertising materials. However, internet users were unimpressed.
On social media, a video of the incident that depicts outraged activists shouting, slogans has gone viral. While ripping down the posters, the enraged groups screamed “Jai Shree Ram” chants. During the outburst, the party members are also accused of damaging public property.

Netizens Reactions
However, internet users were not amused by the most recent misbehaviour of Bajrang Dal and VHP. Prior to the Shah Rukh Khan movie’s release, a number of them called out the parties and denounced their actions. One user wrote, “In future all films have to get U certificate from Bajrang dal along with Censor board to have safe run in the country??” Another wrote, “These guys seriously need some work; unemployment is a major cause for such activities of vandalism and ruckus, because they have plenty of free time & free data.”

Pathaan to clash with Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh
Meanwhile, over the Republic Day weekend in 2023, Pathaan, which debuts on January 25, will compete with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh. Shah Rukh will star opposite Deepika Padukone in the film, which marks his comeback as a lead actor after the catastrophic 2018 film Zero (he appeared in a few cameos between).
