The turbulence at the borders reached the cinema and in 2016 the exchange of art and artists was banned after the Uri attack. Taking into consideration the safety and nationality post-attack, the Indian Motion Picture Producer’s Association made a rule and banned Pakistani artists. Celebrities like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan haven’t entered the Indian soil since then.

Now, after eight years, a Pakistani movie that has garnered praise across Pakistan is set to be released in India soon. It was possible only after October 2023 when the Bombay High Court removed the ban to promote cultural harmony, unity and peace.

In his interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ameya said that in the situation when India is being hit by terrorism, Indian soldiers are being killed frequently in the Valley, we cannot let this movie be released. “Don’t we make good movies in India?
