In the aftermath of one of the deadliest terror attacks to strike Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, some of Pakistan’s biggest stars have spoken out in sympathy with the victims. In Tuesday’s attack in the picturesque valley region of Baisaran in Pahalgam, at least 26 people were killed and scores of others were injured. According to officials, terrorists came down from the nearby hills at about 3 PM and opened fire on tourists and civilians indiscriminately.
A Cross-Border Outpouring Of Grief
Pakistani actors Fawad Khan, Hania Aamir, and Mawra Hocane took to social media to express their anguish over the senseless violence. They extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and called for unity in the face of terror. Hania Aamir shared a post where she wrote, “Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope we are one. When innocent lives are lost, the pain is not theirs alone.. it belongs to all of us. No matter where we come from, grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always.” On the other pakistani celebs who have always worked in Bollywood shared their take on this unfortunate incident. Fawad Khan and Sanam Teri Kasam actor Mawra Hocane also shared their messages. Fawad wrote on Instagram Stories, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time”. Mawra shared, “My deepest condolences to the affected families… An act of terrorism against one is terrorism against all…What’s happening to the world.”


India has taken stern action against Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack which claimed 26 lives and left several injured. A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) was held for over two hours and India decided to teach a lesson to Pakistan for its support to cross-border terrorism. While addressing a press conference, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, “Recognising the seriousness of this terrorist attack, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) decided upon the following measures- The Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 will be held in abeyance with immediate effect until Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support for cross-border terrorism.
