On December 16, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Homebound’s shortlist. Fifteen films from around the world were shortlisted for the Best International Feature Film category, including Homebound.
The films shortlisted in the International Feature Film category showcase a glimpse of cinema from around the world. Homebound will compete against films like Belen from Argentina, The Secret Agent from Brazil, It Was Just an Accident from France, The Sound of Falling from Germany, The President’s Cake from Iraq, All Dates Left of You from Jordan, Kokuho from Japan, No Other Choice from South Korea, Sentimental Values from Norway, Sirat from Spain, and The Late Shift from Switzerland, among others.

About Homebound
Homebound depicts the friendship of two childhood friends ( Ishaan Khattar and Vishal Jethwa). Vishal plays Chandan Kumar, a Dalit boy, while Ishaan plays Mohammad Shoaib, a Muslim boy. They have faced societal scorn and discrimination since childhood. Chandan and Shoaib, who have suffered poverty since childhood, have big dreams. They want a better life. Therefore, they dream of joining the police service to improve their lives. But as they get closer to their goal, their friendship begins to crack.
