After RRR created a mark on the global platforms and won India laurels, the Indian film market has been receiving an overwhelming response and respect from across the world. And that is reflected in this year’s nomination shortlist for Oscars 2025.
Not one, but three Indian films have been considered among 323 movies from across the world. And out of them, only a handful will be shortlisted, which will further compete for the coveted prize.
While India produced several big-budget and visually appealing films, which were high on content as well, the ones that have caught the attention of the jury include Suriya’s Kanguva, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Aadujeevitham’ AKA The GOAT Life, and Shuchi Talati’s directorial Girls Will Be Girls.
A list of all the films that have been shortlisted for the award category has been going viral on social media. It also includes names such as I Saw The TV Glow, IF, It Ends With Us, Inside Out 2, Lee, Kneecap, Longing, The Imaginary, How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, among others.
As per reports, the voting lines to vote for the best film will open on January 8, 2028 and will close on January 12, 2025. The final nominations will be announced on January 17.
