Oscars 2023

Oscars 2023: Two things, according to the audience, are crucial for India and Indians. Cricket and movies are two examples. India also happens to be one of the biggest nations in the world and is the origin of a variety of cinema genres. And when that is acknowledged on prestigious worldwide stages like the Oscars, our pride knows no boundaries.

March 12 is the date on which we are all focused. Today might see RRR make history one more if she wins the coveted golden statuette. Oscars 2023 holds a special place in the hearts and dreams of the Indian film industry. In the Best Original Song category, RRR’s Naatu Naatu has been nominated, and the other Indian candidates are All That Breathes and Elephant Whisperers. This is all the information you need to know about RRR and the Oscars before the movie, fingers crossed, makes it to the final cut.

Oscars 2023: Naatu Naatu in race

Naatu Naatu is the sole Indian song nominated in the Best Original Song category, which is a really impressive accomplishment for India. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava are singing MM Keeravaani’s song, which was composed by the latter.

It faces competition from Tell It Like a Woman’s Applause, Top Gun: Maverick’s Hold My Hand, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Raise Me Up, and This Is a Life’s This Is a Life (Everything Everywhere All At Once).

Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and SS Rajamouli reaches LA

Jr. NTR will attend the Oscars in Los Angeles in 2023 alongside Ram Charan and SS Rajamouli. Ram was seen without shoes at the airport when he departed for Los Angeles, but Jr. NTR was subsequently recognised. We are anticipating seeing them on the red carpet even though they are attending a variety of events.

RRR fails to bag best director and best film categories

RRR was nominated for an Academy Award in 14 categories, but just one. And a major accomplishment for us is that. RRR also missed the Best Film competition. The filmmaker discussed RRR’s rejection as India’s official Oscar submission in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He said, “Yeah, it is disappointing. But we are not the kind of people who would sit and brood about why it didn’t happen. What has happened has happened, and we should go forward with it.”

He further added, “But I am happy because it (Chhello Show/ The Last Film Show) is also an Indian film and it has also been shortlisted for Oscars. I’m quite happy for it. Of course, everyone knew RRR had a much bigger chance. Here (in the US) everyone felt RRR had a bigger chance. But I don’t know how the committee (Film Federation of India), what are guidelines for the committee. I don’t know that and I can’t comment on that.”

Fans’ reaction to RRR

The nominees for the Oscars in 2023 were revealed in January of this year. RRR was one of the top Twitter trends days before the title of the movie was revealed. Here is what some fans said:

Naatu Naatu live performance

India may be happy that SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category for 2023. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava would sing Naatu Naatu live on the Oscars stage, The Academy said on February 28.

Composer MM Keeravaani has previously mentioned that the live performance was currently in rehearsal. On stage, Naatu Naatu will be sung for 2.5 minutes. MM Keeravaani will collaborate with Oscars 2023 music director Rickey Minor on the composition. Regrettably, instead of Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, you’ll find American dancers swaying to the upbeat music.
