The investigation into the Rs 252 crore MD drug racket has reached an important stage, and Mumbai Police are now closely checking every name mentioned by the arrested accused. Orry was summoned by the Mumbai Police on Wednesday and was asked to appear before the Anti-Narcotics Cell’s Ghatkopar unit the next day.
However, the social media influencer did not show up, and his representative informed the police that he is currently out of Mumbai and will be able to join the probe only after November 25. Officials say a second summons may be sent soon.
The Ghatkopar Anti-Narcotics Cell had called Orry in for questioning based on statements made by Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, the main accused.
During interrogation, Shaikh has reportedly named several known personalities, including Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddiqui, and Orry. Investigators aim to question each of them to understand their connection, if any, to the case and clarify the sequence of events. The summons issued to Orry is part of that process.
How the case started?
The case dates back to 2022, when a man from Worli was arrested and the police found MD worth Rs 1.19 lakh with him. As the investigation moved forward, a major breakthrough came in March 2024, when police discovered a mephedrone factory on a farm in Sangli, Maharashtra.
The factory was allegedly run by Salim Dola, who is believed to be close to drug supplier Salim Shaikh. Shaikh was later arrested in November and named several Bollywood celebrities during questioning.
