Oppenheimer fame Cillian Murphy is being considered to play the antagonist Voldemort in the upcoming Harry Potter series. The Academy Award winner is known for his exceptional performance in Christopher Nolan’s film, which was released in 2023.
As the casting for the new Harry Potter series kicks off, Cillian Murphy’s name has been shortlisted for the popular role, which was earlier played by Ralph Fiennes. The news is now trending all over the internet. Fiennes, who brought Voldemort to life in The Goblet of Fire and The Deathly Hallows, recently shared his support for the talent.
In a recent interview with Andy Cohen, Ralph was asked if he approves of Cillian’s potential casting as Voldemort in the upcoming Harry Potter series. He said, “Cillian is a fantastic actor. I actually think that’s a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favour of Cillian. Yeah.”

Though no confirmations in terms of casting has been done yet, reports suggests that the team is looking for fresh casting for the characters of Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley.
