Netflix is one of the most popular OTT platforms in the world, where several Indian movies are released every week. In the Netflix Global Top 10 this week, only one Indian movie was able to make it to the list. It is none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer ‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders’.
It is the standalone sequel to the 2020 film ‘Raat Akeli Hai’, also streaming on Netflix. In this highly awaited sequel, Nawazuddin Siddiqui returns as the rough inspector Jatil Yadav. This time, he will handle a fresh and more complicated murder case that unfolds from the wealthy and politically powerful Bansal family.
On reprising his role in the sequel, Nawazuddin stated, “Jatil Yadav is a character who is very close to me, flawed and restless, yet relentless in the persuit of justice.” After this, he also added, “Coming back to play it feels like returning to close some unfinished business. I’m grateful RSVP, MacGuffin Pictures and Netflix for giving the opportunity to play the character again. I am excited for audiences to see more from the man behind the uniform”.
The movie features a strong supporting star cast, including Chitrangada Singh, Radhika Apte, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, and Sanjay Kapoor.
Meanwhile, the South Korean film ‘The Great Flood’ is currently leading the Netflix Global Top 10 list. It is followed by Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua, The Grinch, Wake Up Dead Man, The Croods: A New Age, Murder In Monaco, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, My Secret Santa, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
