The recent fire in Mumbai that destroyed two film sets claimed one life. On Friday, a fire started on the sets at Chitrakoot Grounds in the neighbourhood of Andheri West. The fire completely destroyed the sets for a Rajshri Production production and the yet-untitled Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Luv Ranjan.

Eight fire engines, five water jetties, and other tools were utilised to put out the fire, which began at 4.30 p.m., after five hours, according to him.

As per civic officials, Manish Devashi (32), who was injured in the fire, was declared brought dead at civic-run Cooper Hospital.

According to Dubey, a second employee who was working on the set lighting for Ranjan’s production received minor wounds.

Incident brigade officials said they were still trying to determine what caused the fire, which started in a makeshift pandal where some wooden objects were housed.

The contractor who erected these sets was the same person who had erected the film set at Bangur Nagar which had caught fire a year and a half ago, Ashok Dubey alleged.

“Fires keep breaking out quite often (on film sets) and we fail to understand on what basis the municipal corporation gives permission to build sets. Fire safety rules should be followed,” Dubey added.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
