New Delhi: Oh My God, starring Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar, became a tremendous box office success after its initial release in 2012. Now, 11 years later, the movie is returning with a sequel, and we can’t contain our excitement! The official Oh My God 2 release date was eventually revealed on social media on June 9. It will come out on August 11 and compete alongside Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Animal, both starring Ranbir Kapoor. Akshay played Lord Krishna in the first film; however, in Oh My God 2, he plays Lord Shiva.

In Madhya Pradesh, Akshay Kumar began filming Oh My God 2 in 2021. The key roles in the movie are also played by Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi. The movie will hit theatres on August 11, 2023, according to a post made by Akshay Kumar on Friday morning, June 9. He unveiled a brand-new Oh My God 2 poster in which he is depicted as Lord Shiva.

Oh My God 2 to clash with Ranbir’s Animal and Rajnikant’s Jailer

Along with it, he wrote in Hindi, “Aa rahe hai hum, aaiyega aap bhi. 11th August. In theatres. #OMG2 (sic).”

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also tweeted, “AKSHAY KUMAR: ‘OMG 2’ ON INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKENDâ€æ #OMG2 – the keenly-awaited sequel, starring #AkshayKumar, #PankajTripathi and #YamiGautam – to release in *cinemas* on 11 Aug 2023 #IndependenceDay weekend. Directed by #AmitRai #FirstLook poster (sic).”

On August 11, 2023, Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, will be released in theatres worldwide in five languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. OMG 2 will compete with Animal. In April of this year, filming for Animal began in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The movie is funded by Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios, and Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar’s T-Series.
