Pawan Kalyan is back on the big screen with his most awaited movie ‘They Call Him OG’. The movie has created immense hype ever since its announcement and also marks the Telugu debut of Emraan Hashmi. The the action packed drama has already set the box office buzzing, with advance bookings breaking unprecedented records. Trends suggest this could mark not just Kalyan’s career best start but also one of the biggest openings in Indian cinema history.
OG box office prediction day 1:
As per trade tracker Sacnilk, OG has already raked in over Rs 75 crore in advance bookings worldwide, moving close to the Rs 100 crore mark. This was more than Kalyan’s previous record holder Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which collected Rs 67 crore worldwide earlier this year. On pre sales alone, OG locked the biggest opening day of Kalyan’s career, setting it up for a massive box office run.
Early reports suggest OG could earn over Rs 100 crore on its first day. Even though the Telangana High Court stopped the film from hiking ticket prices, the buzz is so strong that it won’t make much difference. Experts believe the opening could be around Rs 130-150 crore.
If that happens, OG will beat the first day collections of hits like Pathaan (Rs 104 crore), Animal (Rs 114 crore), Saaho (Rs 126 crore), and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). It may even top Leo (Rs 142 crore) and Coolie (Rs 151 crore), making it one of the biggest Indian film openings ever.
