Anime movies and show have gained massive popularity among the audience and have also become a new form of entertainment. From unique storylines to stellar visuals, anime have been getting widespread praise worldwide. Solo Leveling, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer and others are currently making waves on the OTT platforms and in theatres but it seems like a new anime has threatened that position.
Solo Leveling is currently receiving tremendous response on the OTT platforms. Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for the trilogy of Demon Slayer Infinity Castle. However, anime film ‘Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning’, which was released in theatres in Japan in January 2025, has already collected 2.2 billion yen (approx $14 million) at the box office. The movie is on its way to surpass Demon Slayer To The Swordsmith Village which earned around 2.26 million viewers, resulting in 3.1 billion yen (approx $20 million) in revenue.

About Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning:
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning focuses on a war between Zeon and Earth Federation. However, a girl with mysterious abilities finds herself piloting a new Gundam in underground mech battles while searching for answers about her powers.
Directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, the movie stars Tomoyo Kurosawa, Yui Ishikawa and Shimba Tsuchiya. It is written by Yoshiyuki Tomino, Hajime Yatate and Yôji Enokido.
Meanwhile, Solo Leveling Season 2 is streaming on Crunchyroll. Demon Slayer is available to watch on Netflix and Crunchyroll. It will return with a trilogy, which will focus on the Infinity Castle arc and will carry forward the story of Hashira Training Arc.
