Yes, that’s correct. Tinnu Anand was initially signed to play the role of Crime Master Gogo in ‘Andaz Apna Apna.’ Shakti Kapoor, during an interview, shared how he came on board for the role after nearly 70 per cent of the filming had already been completed. Despite expressing concerns about the tight schedule due to prior commitments, Shakti Kapoor agreed to join the project. In a compromise, he suggested shooting his scenes during the night if the other actors were amenable to this arrangement. This decision ultimately led to Shakti Kapoor portraying the iconic character of Crime Master Gogo in the film.
Shakti Kapoor continued, stating that Tinnu was approached, asking if Shakti could assume the role instead. Being a close friend, Shakti ensured not to take on the part without Tinnu’s permission, and fortunately, no reservations were expressed.
Gogo has become a favorite among fans, including Aamir Khan. In the same interview, it was revealed by Shakti that he was in search of a Crime Master Gogo t-shirt. Subsequently, Shakti’s son discreetly gifted him the desired t-shirt. A few days later, Shakti was surprised to spot Aamir wearing the same t-shirt at a party. Furthermore, Shakti discovered that his character had inspired Crime Master Gogo toys and even a food stall named Crime Master Momos.
